I don’t know if you know this, but I spend a LOT of time thinking about you.
Today’s “letter to god” (my version of morning pages) was about the “what’s next” for my tribe.
“How can I help them?” I asked. “What do they need?”
I meditated on it, jotted down some ideas (most of which are about love), and then jumped into my day and the million things already yelling for my attention.
I believe you feel that too, right? The ever-present pull on your time, energy, and emotions as a woman, partner, mother, auntie, boss-lady, writer, and creator of your own dream.
It can be exhausting.
As I spoke to one of my CEO Sisters (a gal in my mastermind of women entrepreneurs who help each other hold course to their goals), she asked me,
”Are you up for a challenge?”
”When you say it like that, I can’t say no.”
”Good! I want you to turn on the video camera or the voice recorder and speak directly to your people about what you see for them. Paint them a visual picture of who they are – whether they see it right now or not. Let them know that you are holding that vision, that identity for them. Be real. Then consider posting it.”
Egads! What had I gotten myself into?!
But I did it — immediately. I do almost all hard things immediately or they don’t get done (like #WakeUpWithDeb that didn’t happen this morning because I didn’t do it right as I rolled outta bed).
So I turned on my phone and the words tumbled out and, before I knew it, I was crying (still am) over the vision I saw as I spoke to you. As I looked at your soul. As I reached past the layers that we often wear to try to understand the woman waiting underneath.
It’s the story of you and Creative Central and my signifier — Fictionpreneurs.
And it starts with… once upon a time.
As my friend Sarah Paikai says, most stories, most simple, true stories, start with once upon a time. So that’s where I’ll begin.
